The Associate Trainers working with the JCPE Support Service are developing new approaches to dance and gymnastics, promoting ICT and differentiation in physical education and creating links with Sporting National Governing Bodies and Local Sports Partnerships through their work.

For example, the Adventure Activities team is working with the Irish Orienteering Association in order to provide teachers with a quality inservice experience and to encourage school-community physical activity links.  Already a number of Local Sports Partnerships have funded the mapping of local parks which can be used by schools and clubs, thereby facilitating a coordinated and quality experience of adventure activities (orienteering) for young people.

The Support Service promotes the professional development of the Associates Trainers and this often involves exchange of information across the group in recognition of the considerable range of expertise within it. The Associates will be involved in the development of resources and delivery of inservice over the coming year.
