Directions to Mayo Education Centre

If using AA Multimap, zoom to full size. Follow the green road (N5) marked Connemara to the Knockaphunta roundabout. Then take the white coloured Lannagh Road and take the next immediate right. Once you have taken this right (orange on map), take the second right where the centre is signposted. You will see Mayo General Hospital on your left.

Directions - From Dublin/Longford via Swinford

After passing the 50km. speed sign on the approach to Castlebar, continue through the roundabout passing Statoil garage to your right. At the next roundabout (Cathal Duffy's Garage on the left) again continue travelling directly ahead.

Continuing on past the pedestrian lights you should see the Fire Station on your right and Texaco on your left before arriving at the Westport roundabout with the Linen Stream bronze artwork in the middle. Take the second exit here, following the sign for Newport (NOT Westport) for a very short time. Take the first right which is immediately after the roundabout and the second right after that again (the main General Hospital entrance).

Immediately take a right for GMIT and pass right by the front of the entire building.
At the end of this road, the Education Centre will be immediately in front of you. There is a car park behind the Ed. Centre which is accessed via the road on the right hand side of the building.


Directions - Ballina via Turlough or Pontoon

Continue to travel towards town, past the 50 km sign, you should see The Welcome Inn Hotel on your left. Continue past the hotel to the end of that road, then turn left and at the traffic lights, turn right up through Main St. At the next traffic lights, go straight through and continue on to the General Hospital and GMIT entrance. Turn left and immediately take a right for GMIT building, passing right by the front of the entire building. At the end of this road, the Education Centre will be immediately in front of you.


From Limerick/Galway via Ballinrobe and Claremorris

After passing the 50 km sign, you should meet a railway bridge. Continue on towards town passing John Hanley's and Cathal Duffy's on the left. .Pass the 50 km sign and continue to the end of the road. After yielding to oncoming traffic turn right passing John Hanley's and Cathal Duffy's on the left. At the roundabout take the first exit - towards Westport.
